Yael Gaulan is a PhD candidate in the Linguistics Department and a Doctoral Fellow at the Mandel School for Advanced Studies in the Humanities. Under the supervision of Dr. Elitzur Bar-Asher Siegal, her current research focuses on lexical semantic analysis of psychological predicates in Modern Hebrew. Her M.A. thesis, also under Bar-Asher Siegal's supervision, dealt with semantic and syntactic phenomena regarding causative psych-verbs in Hebrew, in light of theories in psychology and philosophy of causation. 

Other areas of interest include historical development of Hebrew, pragmatics and sociolinguistics.

Scholarships and awards: President Scholarship for outstanding doctoral students in the Faculty of Humanities (2017-), the Mandel Institute for Jewish Studies excellence prize (2012, 2014) and Kutscher prize for excellent academic achievements, the Department of Hebrew Language (2013).
