3 January, 2022

We are happy to introduce the research group for the years 2023-2026, “Passivities: Modes of Feeling, Modes of Knowing,” led by Prof. Ruben Borg, Prof. Raz Chen-Morris, Dr. Lola Kantor-Kazovsky and Dr. Gur Zak. The group seeks to reexamine the notion of passivity from two angles, one historical, focusing on early modern Europe as a transitional phase; and the other, critical and philosophical, examining the notion of passivity from a phenomenological point of view.

The book, currently available in Hebrew, examines how local and global memories were created in the Holy Land and Europe. It is the result of the work of the "Liturgy and Arts" research group that spent the years 2015-2018 at Mandel Scholion.
