Uri Jacob completed his MA studies in musicology at the Hebrew University. Formerly, he completed his Bmus and Mmus studies in classical guitar performance at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. His MA thesis was dedicated to the place of secular music in 16thcentury Spain, with an emphasis on the repertoire for plucked instruments. Currently he is a PhD student at the Hebrew University and a member at the Mandel Scholion research group "Liturgy and Arts as Constructors of Cultural Memory in the Middle Ages." His research focuses on the representations of the crusades, the crusaders and Jerusalem in the late-medieval music repertoire. He is also teaching as an assistant at the musicology department and at the school of the arts at the Hebrew University.

In the same time, Uri continues his activities as a classical guitar performer in various musical projects and ensembles, among them contemporary music ensembles such as The Israeli Contemporary Players, Meitar Ensemble and Ensemble Modern (Germany), and with many orchestras in Israel, including the Israeli Opera House Orchestra. He is also playing constantly, along with Itay Bainer, as a member of Prefix guitar Duo. Until recently he was the head of music department and a guitar teacher at The Conservatory of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.
