Yonatan Harel began his studies at the department of Architecture at 'Bezalel – High Academy for Arts & Design, Jerusalem', but completed his B.A and M.A at the 'Hebrew University, Jerusalem'. His B.A is in the PPE program (Philosophy, Politics & Economy), and his M.A was done in Philosophy (Magna cum Laude). Yonatan's main Interest is in 'Aesthetics', a subject he is handling with a diverse spectrum of reference (From philosophical and political theories, to Plastic Arts, Russian Literature and computer vision). Yonatan's M.A Thesis analyzed Kant's 'Critique of Judgment', under the supervision of Dr. Tatiana Karachentseva. As of now, Yonatan is a PhD candidate at the department of Art History under the supervision of Dr. Gal Ventura along with Dr. Dror Pimental. His aim is to integrate Erwin Panofsky's theory with Benedict Anderson's term of 'Imagined Communities'. Yonatan is a recipient of a Scholion-Scholarship.
